Defense Verdict Secured In Multi-Million Dollar Transportation Suit

On February 26, 2019, Jeff Choi and Barry Snyder obtained a defense verdict in the matter of Navarro et al. v. Fred Hamilton et al., heard in the USDC Central District of California. Plaintiffs sued for damages related to a severe SUV versus tractor-trailer collision on northbound I-15 near Rancho Cucamonga. Plaintiffs alleged that defendant Hamilton violated the Vehicle Code and relevant standards of care by parking off the side of the highway. Plaintiffs sustained catastrophic injuries, including traumatic brain injury and a serious shoulder injury resulting in a flail arm. Their combined future life care plans exceeded $11 million. Prior similar cases resulted in verdicts of $4.8 million, $178 million, and on January 31st, $11.05 million. Mr. Choi closed the case and the jury rendered a defense verdict after 30 minutes of deliberation. This is Mr. Choi’s second defense verdict in a row.
